Holidays November 1, 2, 27, 28 & 30 - Updated

The next month of November 2009 is filled with two long weekends of holidays on Novemebr 1 & 2, and November 27 & 28, 30. [Nov 27 & 28 are only applicable to Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) according to Malacanang through this article]

President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has declared Nov 1 and 2 as special non-working holidays for the All Saint's Day and All Soul's Day.

November 27 and 28 are for Eid'l Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) while Nov 30 is a regilar non-working holiday - Bonifacio Day.

Sept 7 & Sept 21 are Holidays This Year

Malacanang has decalred Sept 21, 2009 as a national holiday in observance of Eid’l Fitr (festival of breaking fast) which marks the end of the fasting month of Ramadan.

Sept 4 Update: Sept 7 is now also declared a holiday and considered national day of mourning for Eraño “Ka Erdy” Manalo's death (Iglesia ni Cristo Executive Minister).

After two long weekends and three holidays in the month of August 2009, Filipinos are getting another two long weekend treats (this weekend and two weeks from now).

Eid’l Fitr is usually celebrated for three days in most Muslm countries. Ramadan is the ninth in the Hijrah calendar. This year, it falls on Sept 21, a Monday, and subsequently declared a holiday. The national day of mourning on Sept 7 for Eraño “Ka Erdy” Manalo meanwhile is due do his recent demise.
