2012 has been a good year for Yahoo! Philippines as evident in the series of events they organized the past year such as the Yahoo! SHE, OMG! Awards, College Hoops, Pitong Pinoy 2.0, Style Factor, and Yahoo! TechnoStormExpo.
Personally, I was able to witness the recent
Yahoo! TechnoStormExpo in Trinoma. Being in the information technology field since college, I can attest to the more proactive approach
Yahoo! Philippines has taken since a few years ago to be more involved within the community.

Moreover,
Yahoo! has made significant investments into the country perhaps due to the Philippines' potential as a key emerging market in the Asia-Pacific region. One would notice the improvements in the main Yahoo Philippines website,
Yahoo Mail, and even related products like
Flickr which has more than 8 billion photos from more than 80 million users to date.

In a recent luncheon gathering at Makati Shangri-La Hotel,
Yahoo! Philippines country ambassador and sales director
Arlene Amarante assured a stronger 2013 with similar and better activities including the return of the
Yahoo-Nielsen Net Index which encapsulates Internet usage activities, trends, and significant changes in online user behavior in the Philippines.
