Made posssible through MTV, Jeepney Music, and Department of Tourism collaboration, MTV Emerge aims to be a platform for unsigned local music groups to showcase their talents and to be given an opportunity to win a one-year recording contract with Jeepney Music.
All genres of music are welcome including indie, rock, hip-hop, R&B, metal, solo artists, and DJs. It also serves as an online music community where creative musicians and music lovers can share new music to be discovered and interact with each other.
As part of a recent contest, unsigned bands are encouraged to register and upload their profiles, photos and original music during the submission period.
A particular entry which caught my attention and earned my vote was that of "Broken" by "The New Modern". Their music is hip and upbeat, but easy. A combination that truly expresses the Filipino's ingenuity and creativity in music. Hurry! Vote now as today is the last day of voting!
After this, seven grand winners will be selected from the top entries on November 20 by a panel of judges including Apl.de.Ap for a live show event on November 27. A one-year recording contract including artist management & promotion with Jeepney Music and mentorship under Apl.de.Ap awaits them.
