Pinoy Blogfest 1.0 Held for Bloggers and Journalists

Gadgets Magazine organized their first alternative media convergence called Pinoy Blogfest 1.0 last April 17 at the Richmonde Hotel in Ortigas, Pasig.

It's objective was to gather together internet media practitioners on issues confronting the new media. Among the topics discussed were work ethics, copyright concerns, and journalistic integrity.

I learned a lot form the morning plenary sessions on
"Optimizing the economic potential of your blog”, “Bloggers as media practitioners”, and "Crafting A Blogger's Code of Ethics" by speakers Abe Olandres (Yugatech.com), Ira Panganiban, and Yvonne Chua (Vera Files), respectively.

Gadgets Magazine’s Publisher & CEO Maribelle Alba gave the keynote speech.

After the on-lunch presentaion by Coca-Cola Philippines, the afternoon breakout sessions were handled by Intel, Asus, LG, Richmond Hotel, and Toshiba, among others. Technology trends, photography, gaming, mobile networking, digital living, and health/fitness were discusssed.
The Pinoy Blogfest 1.0 was a perfect complement as I also attended iBlog 6 the day before where the tracks focused on the business side of blogging.
