Samsung Philippines recently revealed its newest innovation in television - the Samsung Smart TV. The intimate dinner with Philippine bloggers was held last April 7 at chic resto-bar Seventh High in Bonifacio Global City.
After the sumptuous dinner, the program started with host Sarah Hernandez unveiling the star of the night - the Samsung Smart TV.
She introduced the Samsung Smart TV D8000 as a revolutionary innovation in the television entertainment industry, with features that can change the way we commonly use our television at home.
Why is it called Smart TV?
More than just an Internet TV, one can also try web applications through the 'Smart Hub' and a slew of other featues with the SocialTV
Smart Hub
The Smart Hub is where one can access a wide range of web applications you can use in the television just like a computer.
Furthermore, she added that more than just being able to surf the Web on TV, the new Samsung Smart TV can deliver rich content that is relevant to the viewers' needs.
Social TV
On the other hand, Social TV functions as a venue where one can post live tweeter feeds, update Facebook status messages, and others, while watching television on a split screen.
You can further upgrade your immersive experience by upscaling the 2D-to-3D vision and sound.
All this combined with a home theatre system in just one screen, with a slimmer and edgy design.
This is the ultimate modern-day mutlitasking gadget enabler, I should say. :) So if you ask me what I can do with the Samsung Smart TV? My reply would be 'everything', everything I do online while watching my favorite primetime shows on TV.
Ms. Jan Roman appropriately sums up everything the Samsung Smart TV can do in the following:

Jan Roman, Samsung Product Manager for FPTV elaborated that they "call this the Smart Hub because all the new features are here already such as the VIP feature...and the 'recommeded areas' where all the applications frequently used are placed here."
