The First Philippine Web Design Conference Coming this July 10: [Form, Function, Class]

form function() & .class: the first Philippine Web Design Conference is the first and only event in Asia for web designers by web designers. Initiated by the newly-formed Philippine Web Designers Organization, it will be held on July 10, 2009 at the Asian Institute of Management, Makati City,

The conference provides a venue for discussion and learning of world-class standards, latest trends, and other emerging aspects of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

It aims to unite over 400 professional and aspiring web designers to actively discuss work-related values and practices, web standards, and discuss with the next wave of web experts through a lively, interactive exchange of ideas. In the long term, the event aims to uplift the state of Philippine web design.


The conference will cover topics in Design, Interaction Design, Web Standards, Web Accessibility, Web Usability, Workflow, Industry Tips, and the State of the Web. Speakers include: Rico Sta. Cruz, Nap Lara, Regnard Raquedan, Marco Palinar, Gail Dela Cruz-Villanueva, Luis Buenaventura II.
The event will also honor accessible websites and web designers with the Disabled-Friendly Website Awards, hosted by the Philippine Web Accessibility Group (PWAG), National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA), and the National Computer Center (NCC).

Participants of the event get a chance to bring home an original Adobe Creative Suite 4 software bundle when they register at the Adobe User Group - Philippines group; while the first 100 non-student participants to pay for the event will receive Google AdWords vouchers worth Php1,000 each.

form function() & .class: the First Philippine Web Design Conference is a brainchild of the Philippine Web Designers Organization, a non-stock, non-profit organization of web design professionals and hobbyists. PWDO has held several mini web design conferences in the past year to pave the way and generate buzz for this unprecedented event. The organization is also set to open membership during the event.
