I first ventured into online selling with a Philippine based Korean-run auction site a few years ago. A friend and I had a good start and I still sell from time to time. I also do purchase some items. In those experiences, I could say that pre-paid cellphone loads are among the hottest items.

Fitness First, a global fitness company, recently launched its very own "Cut the Fat Challenge" Facebook Application, an interactive game about achieving one’s ideal weight through working out and eating the proper diet.Everyone wants to begin the New Year by shedding pounds gained from the holiday feasting. Fitness First tries to offer just that with its new application on social networking site Facebook. Just like any interactive application on Facebook, the goal is to enjoy the game with your Facebook friends and thereby strengthening the bond of your network.
“Dedicated to motivating people to improve their overall health, Fitness First’s Facebook application draws attention to fitness and incorporates actual physical exercise in the digital interaction challenge,” mentions Mark Ellis (Fitness First Philippines Country Manager).
The Cut the Fat Facebook Challenge provides an interactive perspective on the relationship of food intake and its equivalent calories to the overall body mass index and weight. Fitness First continues to merge innovation and fun with their fitness routines to adapt healthy and fit lifestyles, while extending it to the interactive game for the online community.
Just don't get too much addicted to it or you'll be stuck in front of the PC the whole day and end up with less actual exercise. :)Check out the Facebook app at http://apps.facebook.com/cutthefat/index to start cutting the fat.

Thank you all for supporting Digital Manila in its first 365 days of existence. From the current mix-magazine type of blog, expect a big change at the end of the third quarter of 2010.
If 2008 significantly started the year of blogger events, 2009 witnessed a deluge! It's clearly visible with the number of posts here in Digital Manila how the blogging community have emerged and developed.
And I think, in 2010, the blogosphere will be similarly crowded, if not more.
It will be a big change where Digital Manila will transform to having it's own specific niche while a number of affiliate blogs will be born at the same time to catch the other niches to be left by Digital Manila. All of them will belong to one umbrella of united network of blogs.
Think Digital Manila in a wider scope - all this in 10-10-10 (October 10, 2010).
Manila, get ready!

I would just have to rave about what I consider were the 2 best blogger events for 2009.
First is the 5-Day Nescafe Soundschool Concerts and workshops in Boracay.
Those who know me personally knows that I also maintain a separate travel blog and food blog. This Boracay event just covered it all. The pop culture event and concerts were for Digital Manila while the Boracay travel experience was for Let's Go Sago! We dined in different hubs around the island which just loaded NomNom Club food blog with a long list of blogs-to-write. If my laptop was just not stolen 3 weeks ago, i would still have hundreds of my photos. Sadly, I lost 90% of it and only retained the last day because it was left in my SD card. :(The other one is my best international blog event (aside from the fact that it is the only one). :) It's Nuffnang's First Asia-Pacific Blog Awards held in Singapore. The three-day event composed of the awards night, a Singapore City blogger's day tour and a free day. It was my first international blog event together with the Philippine contingent interacting with bloggers of other nations including Malaysia, Australia, and of course, Singapore.
Those two were the best local and international blogger events for me in 2009. Thanks to Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide, Manila and Nuffnang Phillipines.

Today is the day we announce the Abenson's Paskong Pinoy Online Promo where we will be giving away a Samsung mobile phone to one of the 101 comment participants.
First, thank you all for participating. It took me and my guest blogger more than three hours in total to read through all the comments. Although they are just comments, some entries were as long as a blog post. :)
Second, I would like to reveal my mystery guest blogger judge. She is a known fashion blogger in the online community with Style and Relax. She is a now a new mom blogger and has started her own new mommy blog Mommylace.blogspot.com. Thank you Lace Llanora for helping out co-judge this contest.
Many entries were very creative and convincing on how their chosen Abenson Christmas Package fits the Paskong Pinoy lifestyle. Many cited the Pinoy's love for food and cooking this holiday season, as well as their fondness for music and the television.
We first identified the outstanding ones and ended up with the Top 16. They are: (in no particular order) animetric, shalomsiy, adriancajayon, Heidi Lanzador, ellenjoycastel, heartlocks19, Cheftonio, silverscreensurfer, ellenjoycastel, vivianaguilar, calai618, joysantos, Bryan, Rina Alcantara, mprrortega, philos).
However, just like in any contest, there is only one emerging grand winner. The total scores actually ended up with a tie between two entries. It would be impractical to give them half phones each so I had to break the tie and choose one winner.
And the Abenson Paskong Pinoy winner whose Christmas and New Year will be merry and bright with a new Samsung mobile phone is mprrortega whose entry came in 10 minutes before the end of the contest. :) And her entry is:WOW ET14000 ang ABENSON PACKAGE na swak na swak
Congratulations!
"Boom Tarat Tarat" man o "Ikaw na Nga"
http://www.facebook.com/people/Abenson-Paskong-Pinoy/100000463566769You would be contacted by Digital Manila through your email on how to claim your prize and the model they would be giving. Honestly speaking, I think you would be able to claim this sometime January of 2010. This is because we have to process your prize in cooperation with Abenson itself and PR company Geiser Maclang after the holiday frenzy. But look at the brighter side, you'd have a brand new spanking Samsung mobile phone with the entry of the new year! :)
Merry Christmas and Happy New year to all Digital Manila readers and subscribers!
You may want to subscribe through email for our updates. Sign up!
You might also want to participate in other ongoing contests:
